Why are payments delayed?

There are several reasons for delay, even though neither Cash App nor the settlement administrator have given detailed facts regarding the cause of the delay. It might take a long time to verify eligibility and distribute funds for the settlement, which involves a lot of claims. Among the possible reasons for the delay are:

  • High Claims Volume: Due to the widespread use of Cash App in the US, a large number of persons were impacted, forcing a thorough investigation and processing of a significant number of claims by the settlement administrators. This may cause the payment process to be delayed.
  • Technical Issues: Cash App may experience technical issues while organizing payouts through its own system or third-party services, similar to many large-scale digital platforms.
  • Verification Process: Verification of claims can be a time-consuming process, especially when users need to provide extra evidence to prove their eligibility. This ensures that only qualified users get paid.

How much time may the delay take?

Although the exact length of the delay cannot be predicted, class-action settlements often take several months to complete. Most of class actions, according to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), need thorough claim verification and adhere to particular procedural processes before payments may be made. Due to no. of claims and the difficulty of rightly compensating each individual, delays may be common in settlements like Cash App’s, which include digital platforms and have a broad consumer impact.

Someone hacked him too when family friends send him $ when, he was stranded on Phoenix, Az. I have screenshots shots of the person named Trish Begay who was the scammer. 18. My CashApp was hacked while I was talking on the phone to someone who said they was a cashapp representative. I also had my daughter and friend girl on the phone with me while my cashapp was being compromised. The hacker took $500 from me while we all was on the phone. I made a Police report and they looked up a contact number for me to call cashapp to ask for my money back. I called the number and they said I would have to email cashapp to get it back. So I emailed them and they said they would give my money back and they never did. I was going through hard times and they didn’t care if I got my money back. This happened in 2022-2023 and I have witness this happen by the Police Department, my daughter and friend girl that this happened, and I still want my money back and some!!
